Privacy Policy

How Audwyn handles your data. Short version: your audio never leaves your device, and the only data collected is what Google's ads need.

1. Who we are

Audwyn is a free, on-device audio editor for Android, published by DecomLabs. There is no account, no sign-in, and no cloud. The app is supported by ads.

2. Your audio stays on your device

All editing — trimming, converting, recording, effects, extracting audio from video, ringtones, and everything else — happens locally on your phone. Your audio and video files, recordings, and exports are never uploaded to us or anyone else. DecomLabs has no server that receives your files and cannot access them.

3. Data collected for ads

To show ads, the app uses Google AdMob. Google's ads SDK collects and processes:

  • Your device's Advertising ID and related device identifiers
  • Approximate (coarse) information such as IP-based region, and app-interaction/diagnostic data used to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud

This data is collected and shared by Google, not stored by DecomLabs. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.

4. Microphone

The microphone is used only when you choose to record audio or use voice-to-text. Recordings are saved on your device. The app does not record in the background and does not offer phone-call recording.

5. Files & storage

The app accesses the audio (and, when you use the video tools, video) files you choose, so it can open them for editing and save your exports into your Music library. It does not scan or upload your library.

6. Your choices & consent

  • EEA / UK / Switzerland: on first launch you'll see a consent form (Google's certified consent flow) for personalized ads. You can change your choice anytime in Settings → Privacy choices.
  • US (CCPA/CPRA): you can opt out of the sharing of your advertising identifier for personalized ads via the same Privacy choices control.
  • You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device's Google settings at any time.
  • Uninstalling the app removes its data from your device.

7. Permissions used

  • RECORD_AUDIO — recording and voice-to-text (only when you start it)
  • No storage or media permission — you choose files through Android's own file picker, which gives the app access to only the file you select
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS — export-finished and recording status notifications
  • WRITE_SETTINGS — only if you choose "Set as ringtone"
  • AD_ID — the advertising identifier used by AdMob

8. Children

Audwyn is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
